The closest airport to Chop Point is in Portland, Maine. The Portland Jetport is about 1 hour South of Chop Point, and campers are met at the airport by a staff member before being transported to Chop Point. In addition, campers are transported back to the airport for their scheduled departure at the end of camp. General information: (207) 774-7301 / Paging (207) 775-5809. The next closest airport is Boston, Massachusetts’ Logan Airport. Since Boston is about 3 hours South of Chop Point, parents must make their own arrangements for campers to be transported to/from Portland, if they choose to fly into and out of Boston. Bus (Concord Coach Lines: 1-800-639-3317) is available from Boston to points North such as Portland and Brunswick, Maine (They do not bring the campers to Chop Point).

***Campers flying as unaccompanied minors MUST fly to Portland.***

The following major airlines fly daily in and out of Portland (airport code is PWM). Click on the airline of your choice to find exact schedule and fare information.

Amtrak trains go as far north as Portland, but do require changing trains in Boston. Bus and Limo services are available from Boston to points North such as Portland and Brunswick, Maine.

Greyhound Bus Lines runs to Brunswick, Maine, which is about 30 minutes from Chop Point. Campers are met at the station in Brunswick, and transported by a staff member to Chop Point. An average one-way fare from Boston, Massachusetts to Brunswick, Maine is between $15 and $20.

In addition, Concord Coach Lines operates service right into downtown Bath, which is about 15 minutes away from Chop Point. Campers are met at the station in Bath, and transported by a staff member to Chop Point. An average one-way fare from Boston, Massachusetts to Bath, Maine is between $25-35.

Both bus lines depart daily from Logan Airport in Boston, as well as from Boston’s South Station (the hub of train, bus and subway lines).

Driving to Camp

If you’re traveling by car, we have provided driving directions from New York City and other points South. For driving directions from your city to Bath, Maine, try clicking the map above. Remember, the address is 420 Chops Point Rd, Woolwich, ME 04579.

From New York City
Take Interstate 684 and 84 to Massachusetts Turnpike (I-90), leave Mass. Pike at Interstate 495 and head north to Interstate 95. Take Exit 6A (So. Portland Exit) to Rt. 295. Continue on Rt. 295 to Exit 31 (Topsham/ Route 1). Turn right at the top of the exit ramp and follow signs to Route 1.

From Bath, Maine (ROUTE 1) to Chop Point
1. After crossing the Bath bridge into Woolwich, drive a short distance before turning left onto Rt. 127 North.
2. After traveling north on Rt. 127 for two miles, take a left onto Rt. 128.
3. After traveling north on Rt. 128 for 5.2 miles, take a sharp left at Chop Point sign onto dirt road. Chop Point is located at the end of the 2 mile road.

Each summer Chop Point offers exciting adventure t Each summer Chop Point offers exciting adventure trips that build memories for a lifetime. Geared to the experience level of the campers, each trip is a fun-filled, hands-on adventure where close friendships often develop. All trips are optional, and campers can choose to go on as many or as few as they’d like. There are no extra charges for the majority of our trips. Campers sign up for trips during the first few days of each session. Some trips are limited due to group sizes and minimum age requirements.  You will find a general description below of the trips that we offer each summer.  Our trip list for 2025 shows which sessions trips are offered in.
